Spicynodes, a powerful mind-mapping tool…
I’ve been exploring Spicynodes as a tool for students to express and organise their learning. It has lots of potential for use in different ways, for a variety of purposes… and it’s fun! I like the idea of using it to for students to record their thinking and learning throughout a unit of inquiry.
For my first attempt, I created a visual mind-map of the learner profiles of the PYP (IBO Primary Years Program). Click on ‘Learner Profiles’ to expand. I plan to add further elements of the PYP, as I experiment more with the tool. I’m including a link to the original as it doesn’t seem to go to full screen from my embed. (Still learning.)
(Spicynodes is still in beta. I have had a few issues with saving and embedding, but have been receiving support.)

Hi Edna, I’ve been playing with Spicynodes this week too. I think it is an excellent tool and very easy to use.
This is so neat, like a Prezi for mind mapping! I haven’t played with it before but did have it bookmarked, thanks for prompting me to take another look at it!
This is fabulous, I can’t wait to play with it. I can see it being used as a presentation tool as well as for mind mapping. I have signed up and will give it a go this weekend. Thanks Edna
Thanks for this post! I’m enjoying the tool as well. How did you embed your example on a WordPress.com blog?
